What Business Do You Want to Move to Essex Green?

Suggest what business should move into the empty space in the shopping center.

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning — Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

In an occasional column, we'll present a new vacant space and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep.

We launch this occasional feature by focusing on the now spot in Essex Green Shopping Center near the ShopRite.

Last time we ran this piece Patch picked the vacant spot at 439 Main St. next to Slate Restaurant, Bar & Lounge.

A lot of residents suggested a new restaurant, throwing out ideas from everything to a Portuguese or Spanish place like in Newark to a Buffalo Wild Wings. The storefront seems a little bit small for a restaurant but let's think outside the box.

So with a few of bars, restaurants and shops in West Orange, now it's up to you to suggest what business should move in. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?
