ReplyMr. Peart in almost every public discussion with you, you always accuse someone of racism. Clearly that is not what was suggested here but you choose to interpret it that way as you do in every conversation and your only recourse is to accuse others incorrectly of racism. I think you need to move on from whatever deep rooted hatred you have and instead of accusing people of something that clearly isn't there become part of a constructive dialogue of a solution for the many problems we face in WO. Crime is out there and we cannot ignore it and accuse those who want to prevent innocent people from becoming victims of being racists, that platform oh choose is simply one of ignorance.

ReplyPlease re-read the thread Mr. Peart. You are the only one suggesting racial profiling. The suggested roiling is to look at those perpetrating these crimes against the innocent and then going after those who fit the profile...it is quite simple and effective.

ReplyWhat we all need to remember is that while this grass roots effort has worked for now real change comes at the ballot box. We must use the power of our vote to elect real leaders. This superintendent fiasco is a continuation of the previous flap that started when the same incompetent BOE members chose Cavanna and look where that ended up and costing us.
We need to send a message that incompetence will not get you eleected anymore. The folks responsible for the many many bad decisions, bullying, and failures of the WOBOE must go. It is up to the voters to use their power to remove those who fail us like Casalino, Brill and Lab and elect those who truly represent the interest of the people and our community.

The only one talking about "racial" profiling here seems to be you Mr. Peart. Why is that? You seem to play the race card quite a bit and also call people names quite often.

ReplyProfiling of criminals, suspeccts, terrorists is a tool employed successfully by law enforcements agencies from our local hometown police all the way up to the FBI and CIA. It is done because it works and anyone who denies that is simply being ignorant and unedcuated.
With the risign crime problems in West Orange and the growing number of violent incidents against innocent people in West Orange it is time to employ tactics that prevent crime and to stop waiting for more useless manipulatable UCR data to be available to provide cover for the failed tactics of ignorance and inaction.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Since when is the mentatlity that it is perfectly ok to take things which do not belong to you as long as they are not locked up? The continued support for the welfarization of America, where you think everyone should be entitled to whatever they want as opposed to everyone being given the opportunity to earn what they want is just so insulting to the generations of Americans who have earned what they have achieved and respect that others have as well.
Thinking it is perfectly acceptable to allow thie nefarious element to go around and take for themselves whatever they want as long as it is not locked up or nailed down is just ignorant.

ReplyThank you Mr. Krakoviak. The key concern for me as a resident and taxpayer is what was the extent of the breach of use of township assets for non-township business, who and how do indiviudals gain access to township computerized assets and records such that future instances of breaches can be prevented, and lastly what information such as personnel records or changes to records such as tax and sewer charges may have been breached.
We cannot allow the township administration to run loose and free with such critical informaiton and resources which are very costly to the taxpayers.

ReplyWill the program be offering any security incentives to protect the potential shoppers from becoming victims in the WO high crime areas? With the rising violent crime issue in WO are residents willing to risk their lives for a few pennies off the tax bill?

Another criminal elemental off the streets as a result of judicious victims. Unfortunately they now have to deal with the after effects of repairing their window as a result what this elemental perpetrated upon them.
Our mayor and administration has been soft on crime as they have proposed nothing of any real substance to turn the tide of rising crime in WO. It is time to take action and stem the downward spiral of WO.
