I applaud Duke Energy for the professional job they did restoring power back to Lord Stirling Village.

What amazes me is the fact that the Duke Energy Team that restored power back to Lording Stirling Village last night had to stay in a hotel 2.5 hours away since they couldn't find local accommodations...where was the host utility company (i.e. JCP&L) to work out the logistics for first responders like Duke Energy?

What is equally amazing is the fact that there was no knock on the door from LSV board members and/or Taylor Mgt during the entire 14 day ordeal...However, there is no doubt in my mind that they will come knocking once they access the cost of removing all of the downed trees.

Now that we've been through 2 prolonged power outages, I'm not sure the spend level is proportional to the quality of life one would expect in a commune like LSV and Bernards Township...bottom line, I'm not impressed.

I emailed our lovely Mayor of Bernards Township Ms. Mary Pavlini this morning, and she has yet to answer me back.
She prefers to only communicate to the downtrodden via the Bernards Township web-site...unbelievable.

DMcG...I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. I've been advocating for us all week, but my efforts are falling on deaf ears. My next move is to email Mayor Pavlini and demand concrete answers and encourage you to do the same. Her email address is mpavlini@bernards.org

Are you ready for this...101.5 FM reported early this morning that JCP&L is now saying that full restoration for those without power due to either storm won't happen until deep into next week..!

You expect us to believe that power is bring restored to many of the remaining pockets of darkness in Basking Ridge. Then I guess Lord Stirling Village isn't part of Basking Ridge anymore. Tell that to the many senior citizens who live on Village Drive and have been living in complete
darkness for 10 straight nights now with no heat. It's amazing how 150 townhouses can sit in complete darkness and yet we say power is slowly spreading even...common folks you can do better than that or may be you can't since we went 7 days without power during Hurricane Irene what's another 12 or so with Sandy...were use to it...it's the new norm.

I'm sorry Governor, but Sunday isn't good enough. I live in Lord Stirling Village in Basking Ridge, and we have been without power for 10 days now; not to mention the 7 days that we went without power due to
Hurricane Irene. The State of New Jersey needs to hold JCP&L accountable for their actions.

I assume JCP&L will begin to redirect the personnel they currently have working in Bernards Township back down to Ocean and Monmouth County to reconnect those that were recently connected as a result of. Hurricane Sandy; further delaying power to those of us living in Bernards Township. I would like to know where Mayor Pavlini has been hiding during all of this. Mayors from other towns have been utilizing real-time communication to keep their residents informed via 101.5 FM. We need to elect local officials that understand the importance of thinking outside the box, especially during times like this.

We can vote for a President, but we can't turn the lights on...come on people we deserve better than that. How do the highly educated in this state continue to passively sit at home and pray for a miracle to happen? Folks, unless we rise up in record numbers and find the courage to leave our little igloo's and show up at the door steps of the powers to be responsible for this mess then nothing is going to
happen. If you think that you are going to force change by complaining on some local blog your in serious trouble. The only way to force real change is through motivation and determination.
