Butler football has come a long way. Before they changed leagues Verona played them and they would pummel Butler every year(usually 42-0). Verona usually has very good teams every year but, Butler was way overclassed. The biggest problem will be the switch from group 1 to group 5. He will have a learning curve.

I think that one of the biggest problems in the high school is the lack of discipline. Two weeks ago it was reported in the Chronicle that a student was arrested for assaulting another student. Sadly, this happens all too often. How times have changed? In my 4 years in a public high school there was not ONE assault. The reason is simple. That would get a student expelled forever. Caught with drugs-you would be history. The school bends over backwards to keep the troublemakers in school. Why? These dregs of society will never be able to hold a job. Who would even hire such derelicts? What we need is for the administration to show some backbone. The troublemakers spoil it for the kids that want to learn.

If a coach had a shortcoming then it is the duty of his boss to tell him or her what area needs improvement. Otherwise how do they expect the coach to change and do a better job? The whole process is a joke. Shady stuff like this does not happen in private industry. Another reason to break up the public school monoply.

ReplyHow does a good coach like Jacobs(he did turn around a terrible program) get fired while a failure like the basketball coach does not. Someone has a lot of explaining to do.

So you blame the average teacher salary(that is above the U.S. average) for someone guilty of sexual abuse on a minor. Yea, it is never my fault! I guess you are a Kool Aid drinker who does not believe in personal responsbility. What are you going to say if Sen. Menendez is found guilty of engaging in sex with underage girls? We have to pay Senators more money. Maybe you are right. I'm going to stop in a bar on the way home from work and get drunk. If I get in a crash and hurt someone it's because I should be getting paid more. What the heck?

ReplyShe should have got at least a 5 year prison sentence. If this was a man who committed sexual abuse on a female student you can bet the house that he would have received jail time. Why the double standard? Also, thru her stupid behavior she has given the WO school district more bad PR. WO already has a rather poor perception and this was more insult added. Will this make good parents of school age children want to move here? I doubt it.

ReplyHe must resign from the council. This guy is a fake,phony,fraud. I have no respect for someone who is not honest. He should have taken responsbility and moved on. Instead, he lied and made all kind of excuses child polio-give me a break! He is shameless and can never be trusted to tell WO residents the truth. If a politician is not honest then he is no good.

Our govt. wastes too much money. Delusional Obama is sill pushing Head Start when his own govt. says it has no benefits. Too many kids get free school lunch while they walk around with cell phones and $100 sneakers. It is a proven fact that spending more money DOES NOT equate with better results. If it did, the Newark public schools would have the best scores. All of this wasted spending must be stopped. Honest taxpayers are getting ripped off.
