NJ Transit to Hold Customer Feedback Forum Tuesday

Officials will be on hand at Newark Penn Station to hear customers' concerns and questions

Commuters who ride NJ Transit now have a chance to let their opinion be known. The transportation agency will hold a customer forum tonight at Newark Penn Station to give customers a direct opportunity to speak with senior executives and managers, explained spokesperson John Durso, Jr. "This customer forum is coming toward the end of our current customer survey, which will conclude on Friday evening. We have been encouraging our customers to log on to our website and take our survey and give NJ Transit their honest assessments. What are we doing right? What can we do better?" Durso, Jr. said. NJ Transit Trains Experiencing Major Delays

Three lines operating with two-hour delays

New Jersey Transit trains are experiencing major delays Tuesday night due to ongoing Amtrak signal and switch problems near Newark Penn Station, according to an NJ Transit announcement. All Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line trains are currently operating with two-hour delays. Midtown Direct trains are experiencing 20-30 minute delays into and out of New York. NJ Transit tickets and passes will be honored on NJ Transit buses and private carrier buses into and out of Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York. Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Amtrak experienced a problems with signal feeds and switches, which control the movement of trains, in the area of Newark Penn Station.
