FBI releases photos of Monday's robbery at TD Bank.
The FBI is seeking the public’s help identifying the man who robbed a TD Bank on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange on Monday. The man, described by the FBI as approximately 5’10” tall and 210 lbs., with a large build, salt-and-pepper hair and a goatee, approached a bank teller at approximately 1:15 p.m., brandished a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money be placed into a blue bag, officials said. The man was described as wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, a dark sweater, blue jeans and dark shoes, according to the FBI. After getting the money, officials said the man fled on foot and was seen walking north on Pleasant Valley Way. The FBI released several photos of the man on Wednesday. TD Bank was robbed this afternoon of an undisclosed amount of cash.
West Orange police are searching for a man who entered the TD Bank at Pleasant Valley Way Monday, brandishing a handgun and demanded cash from a teller before fleeing with an undetermined amount of money. According to West Orange police Sgt. John Palardy, the man, described as white, with glasses and wearing a dark baseball cap facing backwards, approached a bank teller at approximately 1:15 p.m. The man showed the teller a silver semi-automatic handgun, Palardy said. West Orange High School was placed on a modified lockdown from 1:30-2 p.m. because of the incident, due to the school's proximity to the bank. Essex County Environmental Center and Turtle Back Zoo will receive the money
TD Bank donated $20,000 on Friday, April 27 to support the educational programs and events at the Essex County Enviromental Center in Roseland and Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. and other officials gathered with students at the center in Roseland to announce the donation, which is the second installment of a four-year $100,000 commitment by TD Bank and TD Bank Charitable Foundation.
