Struggling Retailer Announces Plans to Close At Least 100 Stores; No Word on Whether This Effects Essex County.
Earlier today, long-struggling retailer Sears Holding Corp. announced it will close between 100-120 stores nationwide in its latest attempt to make itself profitable, according to The Huffington Post. There is no word whether any local stores will close, although the retailer said a final list will be posted upon completion at searsmedia.com. This news could impact several Sears Holding Corp. stores in Essex County, including Kmart stores in Belleville and West Orange, Sears stores at the Livingston Mall and in West Caldwell, and the Sears Essentials in West Orange.
