22-year-old killed, another man wounded early Monday morning.
A 22-year-old West Orange man was fatally shot early Monday morning, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio. Raymar Lecky, 22, was shot at approximately 3 a.m., near Sanford and Lanark Avenues in Newark, according to a statement released by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Lecky was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:18 am., according to the statement. A 26-year-old male, whose identity has not been released, was also shot but survived and is hospitalized in stable condition, according to the statement. The Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating this murder. No arrests have been …

Nolvin Garcia, 24, of Orange, was charged with the murder of Jacques Nelson, 32, of Orange, by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office yesterday.
The man accused of shooting and killing a bouncer at a West Orange bar in August was arraigned on Tuesday morning in Newark Superior Court, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Nolvin Garcia, 24, of Orange, was charged with the murder of Jacques Nelson, 32, of Orange, by the ECPO yesterday. Garcia, also a citizen of Honduras, was arrested in Laredo, Texas, on Aug. 19 by US Border Patrol Agents as he was attempting to cross over into Mexico. Garcia was extradited from Texas to face charges in New Jersey. Garcia, also known as Jose Elvin Lendos Garcia, was fighting with someone in the parking lot behind Misty’s Bar and Restaurant, at 277 Main St., at around 2 a.m. on Aug. 6. The West Orange Car Wash will donate $5 for every car washed on Saturday to the family of the man that was shot and killed outside Misty's Bar last week.
Local business owner Scott Carpel is hosting a fundraiser this weekend to help support the family of the man shot and killed at a township bar last week. Carpel, owner of the West Orange Car Wash, located at 87 Main St., said Friday he is raising money for the family of Jacques Nelson, who was murdered at Misty’s Restaurant and Bar on Aug. 6. “I know a lot of guys that live in West Orange, and (the murder) hit home to me because it was so close to my business,” said Carpel. “ ... I feel more people should get involved when something happens.” Carpel said he would donate $5 for everyone who gets a car wash on Saturday. Nolvin Garcia, of Orange, is wanted for the murder of a bouncer at Misty's Restaurant and Bar in West Orange on Monday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
Authorities have identified the man responsible for the murder of a bouncer at Misty’s Restaurant and Bar on Monday. Nolvin Garcia, 24, of Orange, is wanted by The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office for the shooting and killing of Jacques Nelson, 32, of Orange. Nelson, a father of four, was employed at the bar, located at 277 Main St., as a bouncer. He was fatally shot around 2 a.m. on Monday when he attempted to break up a fight in the municipal parking lot behind the bar. Garcia is still at-large and is considered armed and dangerous, according to the ECPO. He was charged with murder and weapons offenses. His bail was set at $750,000.
