In case you missed Mayor Robert Parisi's State of the Township address online, the township website has posted it online for residents to view. At the breakfast, held at The Manor Restaurant, Parisi recognized the 150th anniversary of the township in 2012 and praised residents. Parisi used his State of the Township address to recognize West Orange Council President Victor Cirilo and council members Patty Spango, Sue McCartney, Joe Krakoviak and Jerry Guarino. He also lauded members of the West Orange High School senior class – singling out two others for special recognition.

Following Hurricane Sandy, a nor'easter and the 2012 election season, the township will get back to work this week. The week begins with town offices closed on Monday, Nov. 12 in recognition of Veteran's Day. The West Orange Township Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13 has been canceled. The West Orange Downtown Alliance meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in town hall, conference room 109. An agenda is not yet available.
