County Extends Agreement with Knowles at Highlawn Pavilion

The Knowles Restaurants family and Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr sign new long-term lease agreement.

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and the Knowles Restaurants family recently signed a new long-term lease agreement  to enable the Highlawn Pavilion to continue operating in Essex County Eagle Rock Reservation. “We’re proud to have been selected by Essex County to continue our legacy of service to the community,” said Harry Knowles, patriarch of the Knowles Restaurants family. The County first entered into a relationship with the Knowles family in 1984 to preserve and redevelop the historic casino building into a fine dining restaurant.  “We are pleased to be continuing our relationship with the Knowles family to operate the Highlawn Pavilion in Essex County Eagle Rock Reservation,” DiVincenzo said in a press release. “…

Following Hurricane Sandy, a nor'easter and the 2012 election season, the township will get back to work this week. The week begins with town offices closed on Monday, Nov. 12 in recognition of Veteran's Day.  The West Orange Township Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13 has been canceled. The West Orange Downtown Alliance meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in town hall, conference room 109. An agenda is not yet available. Chamber To Host Annual Awards Dinner

Sen. Codey is special guest; local businesses and individuals will be recognized.

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Community Awards Dinner, Wed., April 25, at 6 p.m. at the Highlawn Pavilion. Former Governor and NJ State Senator Richard Codey is the special guest. The Chamber will recognize Sonet Family Dental as the Business of the Year, along with the membership of the West Orange Fire Department, Police Detective Ryan Funk and First Aid Squad Volunteer Geri Dawes. West Orange High School's Victor Paglio will be recognized as Educator of the Year.  Tickets are $70 for members and $90 for non-members, and can be purchased in advance until April 23 at Cass Realtors (6 Northfield Avenue) or the Mayor's Office (66 Main Street).
