Shul Spiel: Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David (AABJ&D)

What's Happening in West Orange Synagogues?

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David, located at 700 Pleasant Valley Way.

The past month has been an extremely busy one for all of our congregants, here at Congregation AABJ&D. We have had many exciting and educational programs for each and every age group, ensuring that everyone had a fun-filled February. This was a jam-packed month for our Youth Department. MishMash (Mishmar on Motzei Shabbat) is our parent-child learning that takes place on three Saturday evenings a month throughout the winter. This past Motzei Shabbat, we held our last MishMash event for the season, where the children all enjoyed learning, raffles and special snacks. As always this program has been a huge success. Our children also enjoyed baking Hamantaschen in preparation for Purim. On Sunday, Feb. 17 both the adults and the children …

What's Happening at West Orange Synagogues?

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David, 700 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange.

As we are in the heart of the winter we are doing as much to keep busy and warm here at Congregation AABJ&D. We have had many educational and social events that have been enjoyed by all. Our great and dynamic youth directors, Daniella and Dovi are always busy planning fun and exciting activates for our children to enjoy. Mishmash has been a success and a hit among the children and their parents. The children also have enjoyed a movie night, challah baking, great and educational learning programs and much much more. What's Happening in West Orange Synagogues

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David.

As the winter weather is getting colder we are doing as much to keep busy here at Congregation AABJ&D. We have had both educational and social events that have been a major hit! In response to Hurricane Sandy the members of our Shul joined together to do what they can to help the people who were affected the most. We collected toiletries, clothing and warm coats just to name a few of the things people who were left with nothing needed. We also took part in an OHEL Chanukah toy drive to collect toys for children and young adults who are less fortunate than we are. This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim B'na Jacob & David.

As the weather begins to cool down, we are feverishly preparing for the High Holidays. Our summer was extremely busy and our members enjoyed all of our exciting and educational programs here at Congregation Ahawas Achim B’nai Jacob & David (AABJ&D). We had the privilege of welcoming our new and enthusiastic Youth Directors, Daniella & Dovi Shenkman, to our Shul. Dovi is originally from Teaneck, NJ. Dovi graduated from Yeshiva University and is currently enrolled in Semicha at the school. Daniella is from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She is a graduate of Stern College for Women and has a master’s degree from Fordham University in Early Childhood Special Education. They are working very hard to prepare new and exciting programs for our youth and…

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim B'nai Jacob & David on Pleasant Valley Way.

As the weather continues to be hot and everyone is trying to stay cool, we are enjoying what is left of the summer as we continue to keep busy here at Ahawas Achim B’nai Jacob & David with all of our exciting and educational programs. Our Youth department continues to be a hit over the summer, even though were on a modified summer schedule. We are looking forward to all of our friends who will soon be returning from camp! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new Youth Directors, who we know will do an outstanding job. Camp Shemesh started out with a bang and has continued to be a huge hit amongst the campers and parents. This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David.

  As the weather is getting warmer, Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David continues to stay busy with great programs while trying to stay cool. Our youth department continues to be a hit over the summer, even though were on a modified summer schedule. Soon, we will sadly said our goodbyes to Chanie, our youth director of three amazing years, of dedicated work to our children, who will be leaving us this summer and moving with her family. We are looking forward to our new youth directors and know that they will do an amazing job. Camp Shemesh started out with a bang and has continued to be a huge hit among the campers and parents. In our fourth week of camp the children are constantly busy with their jam-packed daily schedule. The …

This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim Bnai Jacob & David.

The past month has been a busy one here at Congregation Ahawas Achim B'nai Jacob & David. Our Youth Department has been very busy with all of their events and programs! In the past month we had our youth raffle drawing, which we were so anxiously awaiting. Congratulations to all of our big winners and a big thank you to our local businesses for their ongoing support. The children also enjoyed a fun and educational Shavuot program that was tailored to their interests and needs. Our Shabbat morning groups are winding down now, but we will continue to have a modified schedule over the summer. What's Happening in Local West Orange Synagogues

This week's spotlight shines on Congregation Achwas Achim B'nai Jacob & David.

The past month has been a fun filled, educational and busy one here at Congregation AABJ&D. It has been a very busy spring for our Youth department! Our Shabbat morning groups are a huge success and continue to get better and better each week. There have been Onegs every other week, which include fun activities for the children to take part in. The children also enjoyed partaking in the Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations. Our Youth Department looks forward to a packed Shavuot filled with learning, a community visit to Daughters of Israel, ice cream sundae party and a game of Family Feud. This week's focus returns to Congregation Ahawas Achim B'nai Jacob & David.

The past month has been an extremely busy one here at Congregation AABJ&D. We have had many exciting and educational programs for everyone to enjoy. Our Youth department continues to be super busy, ensuring that all the children have a great time. There are constantly new and exciting programs and outings for the children to partake in. Over Pesach, the youth department arranged groups and special activities to get the children in the holiday spirit. The children joined in for a community-wide walk to Daughters of Israel. They were given the opportunity to visit with the residents, making the holiday special for everyone who participated! The youth department is working very hard on their big fundraiser.
