The Essex County Sheriff's Office posted a $5,000 cash reward on Thursday for information that leads to the arrest of two men wanted in connection with 11 armed robberies of convenience stores, liquor stores and gas stations in towns in three North Jersey counties since Feb. 1, Sheriff Armando Fontoura said. The pair has been identified as the two allegedly involved in an April 23 armed robbery at the West Orange Krauszer's on Central Avenue, where two men allegedly assaulted an employee, tied up a customer and the employees and then robbed the store at gunpoint, the sheriff's office said. Five men allegedly assaulted and robbed a man with a gun Saturday night while walking near the intersection of Ridge and Watson avenues in West Orange.
A New York man was allegedly beaten and robbed at gunpoint by five men Saturday night in West Orange, police said. According to police, the Queens, N.Y. man was walking near the intersection of Ridge and Watson avenues just after 10:15 p.m. on May 4. The New York man told police while he was walking, five men surrounded him and one pulled a silver handgun. The man with the gun demanded money and threatened to shoot if he didn't get it, police said. The New York man told police the armed man hit him with the gun and the four other men started beating him. Alleged robbers tied up two employees and one customer, rob convenience store of $700 and lottery tickets in late-night armed robbery Wednesday.
West Orange police are searching for two men who allegedly assaulted an employee, tied up a customer and the employees and then robbed the Krauszer's on Central Avenue at gunpoint late Wednesday night, officials said. According to police, the men made off with $700 and lottery tickets when they robbed the convenience store at 11:53 p.m. The two robbers hit one of the employees with a gun then tied up a customer and the two employees with zip-ties, police said. Burglar allegedly snuck up on a 61-year-old West Orange resident as he parked his car in garage.
West Orange police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a 61-year-old Llewellyn Park homeowner with a semi-automatic handgun, officials said. According to the police reports, the homeowner parked his car in his garage around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 before getting out of the car and heading into his house. As he walked to his door, the burglar appeared with the gun. The burglar then threatened the resident by pointing his gun at the homeowner’s head, police said. The homeowner was then handcuffed and forced to lie on the garage floor. The house key was then removed from the resident’s key ring. Police are searching for two men involved in armed robbery at K & R Bread Distibutors in West Orange.
West Orange police are investigating a Friday afternoon-armed robbery at a Valley Road business. In the Feb. 15 incident, an employee of K & R Distributors, located at 438-440 Valley Road, said two men wearing all black clothes and black ski masks approached him as he was returning a bread truck to the back of the building after completing a delivery around 3:20 p.m. One of the men then allegedly stuck what is believed to be a handgun against the employee’s back and stole the employee’s wallet, valued at $450, and $600 in cash from the employee’s pockets. The men then fled onto Cary Street towards Orange, police said.

Man reportedly robbed of $500 at gunpoint.
A 57-year-old man was recently robbed of $500 at gunpoint, according to police. This marks the second armed robbery in town in the past two weeks. The man was walking on Harrison Avenue near Chestnut Street at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, when a black teenager with a handgun came up behind him. The man stated to police that he grabbed at the handgun and struggled with the teenager. However, the teenager eventually pushed the gun into the man’s stomach, causing him to fall to the ground. The teenage boy reportedly took the man's wallet, which contained $500 in cash. The wallet was later found in the rear of a residence on Harrison Avenue.
