Turtle Back Zoo is a racist organization. Many times My white husband has gone in to zoo with our family membership card and two guests and NEVER been charged guest fee. I am dark skinned and have ALWAYS been made to pay guest fee. HOW IS THAT FAIR? My husband and I both agree.

I love the Turtle Back zoo because my family always has a great time there. I took one star off because I semi agree with Carmen. I am white so I don't think it is racism, but some of the workers are INCREDIBLY rude. I have way to many encounters with obnoxious staff. The membership of "Family + plus guest" is now "Family + caregiver". When I asked the cashier at the entrance, she said that was ALWAYS the policy (eye roll included) and insisted I was wrong about my membership including a guest. When I dug out my old card from only three years ago, it clearly was stamped "Family + Guest". How about the employee who rides around on the golf truck throwing people out of the park at closing time or the people manning the slide? I know it must be annoying to have people lingering at closing, but come on! They truly have a very unhappy disgruntled staff with the exception of the train conductors and the people in the learning center. The cafeteria people are ok too.
