I like this place enough to eat there about once a month. The food is outstanding, and the musical acts are very good. There were some service issues when they first started, but that seems to have been worked out.

5-stars. Really nice take-out tonight.

This southern Big Bar B Que enthusiast rates this place a solid 4 stars! Really glad to have you in the neighborhood Suzy! Rack of ribs was great. "Memphis" sauce was my pick tonight. Really nice sauce! 4-stars.

Unfortunately I can't give a good rating. So disappointed...started off so good
and just seems to be going downhill. Most of the people going now have
Groupons and probably won't return. Staff has been cut and it takes forever
for the food to come out. Don't get the French Onion Soup...bowl full of onions and 1/4 cup of what looked like chicken broth and it was luke warm
to top it off. Don't know what's going on but it's a shame...really missed
Quincey's and was hoping they would make it. I guess all the money is
being made on entertainment/bar and not food. If you get a full glass of
wine it's probably been diluted. Very upset and disappointed. Hope Suzy
is reading all the comments and trying to correct them.

Ribs and drinks are good but the sauce leaves a lot to be desired. They need to step it up on the sauce.

This place has more than a few kinks. The staff are slow and sometimes rude, the food is okay but takes a long time to get out of the kitchen (I don't know about you but I'm not keen on waiting 15-20 minutes for drinks and 45+ for my food). I've been here a couple of times to see if the new restaurant bugs worked themselves out, but sadly they haven't, and when issues arise both the staff and the owner seem to not care, sometimes even saying so. Overall, I would love a place in that location to thrive (I was sad when Quincy's started failing and getting worse and worse), but not this place... not unless there's a huge overall in operations and staff.

Great place for food and drinks. I loved the guitar and harmonica duo for music at the bar.

The food is great, the service is wonderful, and SuzyQue herself, well priceless! The questions here is, why did it take so long for a woderful BBQ joint that has class, style, and hot entertianment to make its way West Orange! I am going back again and again!! You should too.

My wife and I took our 1 year old twin boys here as we were excited to try the new addition to the neighborhood and I must say, we were thrilled.

Not only was the food incredible(the combo platter is an absolute feast and for our first time there allowed us to try a little bit of everything) but the staff was very helpful in getting the children's order in quickly to allow the parents some sanity!

The Mac and Cheese side was absolutely great and would recomend that to anyone. The only item I wish they would improve on is the cornbread as it wa s abit dry.

However the combo platter, prime rib sandwich and wings appetizer were all great and am very excited to go back and try more. Having great food in a family friendly atmosphere is tough to find so we are very happy to have SuzeQues in West Orange!

A welcome addition to the suddenly revitalized Valley dining scene. Diverse menu (loved the empanadas), great wines by the glass, and authentic BBQ (kudos from an admitted BBQ snob). Gotta agree with the mac & cheese comment below -- a bit too rich, but nobody's perfect. Nice touch being engaged by the owner, hope she keeps it up beyond the grand opening period. Looking forward to live music on our next visit.

I make it a habit not to reply to posts or reviews about SuzyQue's but in this case I have no choice. What you saw the bartender do was use our Vinfinity wine preservation system (www.vinfinity.com). The system takes the oxygen out of the wine bottle to preserve the wine. It is used in only the finest of restaurants and I made the investment so that our Patrons could have an even more enjoyable wine experience.

We tried this place on their Grand Opening weekend and unfortunately we weren't 100% pleased. The empanada and southwest meatball appetizers were both good, but very small portions (in case you plan to share). We both had bbq --- chicken and ribs, which were both just good --- nothing spectacular. The sauces on the side were good, the creamed spinach was extremely bland and as lucious as the mac and cheese looked, it was simply to rich with cheese to truly enjoy.

We had dinner and drinks at the bar and the bartender was great -- until the night went on and I actually saw him pour a patron a glass of red wine and then proceed to put the spicket from the soda/water dispenser to the top of the wine bottle and add something to it before putting it right back on the shelf and proceeded to serve out of the same bottle to the next person. I can only imagine that he was diluting the wine with water to stretch it, but this is something I wouldn't even do at home so I certainly don't want to see a restaurant bartender diluting a good bottle of wine with water.

We personally won't rush back here, but hopefully over time the simply issues will be worked out. It's a great location, the live music was great but the food was just good --- not great.

I've been to SuzyQue's at least 8-10 times. My favorites are the baby back ribs. They're so good that to add sauces would be a crime, IMHO. The mac & cheese side dish (5 cheeses) are to die for and the mashed potatoes are better than Mom ever made (sorry, Mom!). I can honestly say that they serve the best hamburgers I've ever had. The meat was wonderful, thick but cooked through, with real texture to it. Definitely better than Pal's Cabin, for comparison.

One evening I ordered the combo platter, which was more food than I could imagine, but I brought home the excess for 2 more meals. In particular, the smoked brisket and Carolina chopped pork were scrumptious.

We went to the happy hour one afternoon, and were certainly not disappointed with the bar menu: terrific potato skins heaped with cheddar & bacon, great nachos, and delicious southwestern-style meatballs. A great Margarita bar pie with fresh mozzarella, too.

Late one evening, we needed a smaller nosh, so we ordered the smoked brisket & black bean Empanadas, and the mushroom quesadillas. Really hit the spot. I believe the kitchen is open till midnight, so it's a great place for light-night munchies.

Suzy has stopped by our table at nearly every visit, and the wait staff are generally terrific: very pleasant, and efficient. One evening, a glass of wine was a little slow to arrive, and without our asking, it was on the house!

SuzyQue's is a terrific addition to the neighborhood!

I've been to this place a couple times now and the food is really, really good. The sides in particular are incredible, and I love the crabcake sliders! The atmosphere is a good mix; both family-friendly and also a nice bar. Definitely worth a visit!

I attended SuzyQue's BBQ for the ribbon cutting ceremony and was not only impressed by the great food but the cool atmosphere. While I was munching on tasty wings and saucy ribs, my feet was tapping to the sounds of a live band. The wide selection of alcoholic beverages would entice even the more discerning wine and beer connoisseurs. The down home feel and cool atmosphere for both singles and families makes SuzyQue's a must go!

I really wanted to like this place. The location is great, I wanted an alternative to Famous Dave's, I wanted to spend my $ in the community, but I can't really recommend this place. Maybe it's b/c it's a new restaurant and hasn't yet worked out the kinks yet. Here's the trouble: There's several items on the menu that they either don't sell, or apparently just run out of. Eg: stuffed chicken, pork belly, brisket. These were all on the menu but I was told that the 1st two are no longer sold there and the brisket they just didn't have, no reason given as to why not. I ended up w/ 1/2 chicken which was ok, kinda on the dry side but when you add the bbq sauces (which they serve on the side in little plastic to -go cups), the chicken wasn't too shabby. My drink: the menu indicated that the garnish was graham cracker crust. When the drink arrived w/out said crust, the response from the waiter was "the bartender doesn't do that anymore". Well then maybe that, too needs to be removed from the menu. Lastly, I was a tad put off that although we ordered appetizers, they never arrived but the entrees did. The waiter did apologize that she forgot to "put in the appetizer", and even comped us a dessert for the trouble. Ultimately, before I come back, I'll have to know that they've addressed these issues. I really want the place to thrive in the community, but with Suzy Q's as it is currently, it fails to impress.
