Road Closures to Continue Monday

Here's what you need to know in West Orange this week.

Two West Orange roads will be closed again Monday morning for continue waterline maintenance by NJ American Water Company in the Gregory section of town.

Closures for Monday are Hazel Avenue, from Pine Street to Oak Ridge Road and Tremont Avenue, according to the West Orange website. 

Also on Monday, the Open Space Commission is set to meet at 7 p.m. in Conference Room 109 in Town Hall, 66 Main Street.

Co-mingled recycling items will also be picked up Monday.

On Tuesday, New Jersey will host a Special Senate Primary Election, which has been vacant since Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) passed away on June 3.

On the Democratic side, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Frank Pallone Jr., Rush Holt and Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver will vie for the seat. 

Running for the Republican party Steven Lonegan and Alieta Eck are running against each other for the seat.

The Historic Preservation Meeting has been cancelled on Wednesday. 

On Thursday, the Special West Orange Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting will take place at 8 p.m., also at West Orange Town Hall, 66 Main Street. Agenda attached. 

Also on Thursday, the Arts Council will also meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at West Orange Town Hall, 66 Main Strett, in Conference Room 109.

On Friday, the Farmers Market will continue at Quigley Municipal Lot, the corner of Harrison and Mississippi avenues. Residents are encouraged to head down from noon to 6 p.m. to check out the great fresh produce that two local farmers are selling along with the delicious snacks and foods offered by our other vendors.
