The Green Hill Gala Sparkles -- Funds Raised for the Green House® Homes Project and Elder Services

The Green Hill Gala was held in October in support of Green Hill and its mission of excellence in care for our elders that focuses on quality of life at all stages of the elder experience.

The second Green Hill Gala was a sparking success on Thursday night Oct 18th, as more that 150 people gathered to raise funds for the Green House® Homes project at Green Hill and Green Hill’s innovative elder services.

With the breathtaking NYC skyline sparkling in the distance and viewed by all from the wall-length windows at the Highlawn Pavilion on the edge of Eagle Rock Reservation leaders of the suburban Essex County business community, local officials, Green Hill President and CEO Toni Lynn Davis, Green Hill Board of Trustees, friends and family celebrated the Green Hill vision and core values of culture change for providing the best quality care for our elders.

Guests enjoyed fine dining, the musical stylings of songstress Corrina Sowers Adler, and fundraising activities including an expansive basket raffle, silent auction filled with art and sport memorabilia and holiday vendors.

The Green Hill Spirit Award was awarded posthumously to Trustee Dr. Catherine Sladowski, and accepted by sons John and Thomas Bamber. Dr. Sladowski was a committed supporter and friend of Green Hill, who served on the board of trustees, and embodied the spirit and mission of Green Hill’s commitment to elder quality of life.  Dr. Sladowski was a renowned OB/GYN in the region beloved by thousands of patients, friends and family.

The Lincoln Ames Award was bestowed upon Trustee A. Duncan Kidd, who consistently champions the innovative approach to elder care at Green Hill and was instrumental in his support of the Green House® Homes. Mr. Kidd has a long history of service on numerous boards in the region and his managerial experience is an asset to the board of trustees at Green Hill.

Green Hill is raising funds to build two additional Green House® Homes on the 20 acres West Orange campus, and to support Green Hill’s programs of Culture Change in long-term elder care.

A highlight of the evening, Mr. Keith Robertson, winner of the 50/50, generously donated his winnings of over $500 back to Green Hill.  Please accept our sincerest thanks to everyone who gave much to support our programs and efforts.

“It was a glorious and wonderful evening filled with friends and remembrances,” said CEO and President Toni Lynn Davis.  “Fundraising is so important for non-profits, especially in these trying economic times. Gathering together to celebrate our supporters and accomplishments; this is my favorite kind of fundraiser.  The support of so many meant much to me and to the board of trustees.  We are very grateful.”
