Health & Fitness

Your most important tool.

You might think your calendar app on your iPhone is the most important tool in managing your schedule.  Or maybe you're the pen-to-paper type, and you carry around a daily/weekly/yearly planner.  Perhaps for you, your To Do List or your list of goals is the thing that keeps you going.  And it's true -- all of these are important in living a productive life on purpose.

But I'm going to challenge the idea that any of these are the most important tool.  Because I think there's something a lot more important -- and until you have it, you're just running in circles.

I'm talking, of course, about vision.  And before you can figure out your vision, you have to know your purpose.  All the tools listed above are great -- but without the compass of purpose and vision, all they do is keep you busy.  Not fulfilled.

It's possible to live that life on purpose but it takes, well, being on purpose! Figuring out why you're here (your purpose) and what you want to do about it (your vision) is the first step to falling asleep at night with a smile of contentment on your face.
So consider this: if all of your physical needs and desires were met, what's the thing you would do for free if you could?  The answer might give you a great place to start.
