Keeping you up at night.

What keeps you up at night? Life coach Kerry Connelly thinks it might just be your destiny.

You've got one, but you may not know it.  You may even insist you don't have one.  Or maybe you know you've got one, but you don't know what it is.  The truth is, everyone has one, whether they believe it or not.

But there's another problem: Once you find yours, what the heck do you do with it?

I'm talking, of course, about your destiny. Your purpose.  That thing that your mind wanders to in the boring budget meeting or the hot shower.  Maybe it's the thing that makes you incredibly angry, or want to cry and pound your fists.  It's probably the thing that's keeping you up at night.

The trick, of course, is to do the work to figure out what you would do if you had no limitations on your time, your money, and your energy.

But realistically, when will that actually happen?  So what to do with this quandry: live a life unfulfilled, or completely avoid all your responsibilities to live out your dream?  You won't be happy with the first, and your family won't be happy with the second.

There are some steps you can take to identify that place that sets your soul afire. First, consider the general area of your destiny.  Are you passionate about kids? Social issues? Stuff that affects families?  Write down all the things that get your heart pumping (or breaking) when you read about them.

Next, consider your own talents and skills.  What do you love to do? What would you do for free, if you didn't need to pay your bills?  Is there a relationship between the two?

Finally, go there.  You know the place.  Let your mind travel through that dreamscape from the shower.  Speak it out loud, even if it's scary.  Go ahead.  Write it down.  Let your mind discover the relationship between these three areas.  Somewhere in there you'll find your destiny.
