NJ Transit Schedule Changes in our Future?

Continual coverage of the NJ Transit Train Schedule Issues for South Orange. Are Possible changes coming our way next week?

The following email was sent on commuters behalf to local elected officials andNJ Transit Executives. I will provide updates as soon as I have them.

 

"We just got word via a direct Tweet from NJ Transit that schedules on many NJ Transit lines will be modified effective Monday, January 14. Details will be released later this week.

This is in direct contrast to what we were told at our meeting in December, that it takes weeks and weeks to make schedule changes. I am confident that you all considered our situation when developing this new schedule to be released on Monday. 

That being said, given the issues and the continual communication that we have all had since the initial October 14 changes, it would be greatly appreciated if we can be informed of the changes coming for Monday so we can determine the impact on our commuters.

Thank you and your continued attention to this matter is and has been greatly appreciated."

I will take you up on that and thank you. I was guilty of thinking it was being taken care of by others (i.e. NJ Transit and residents) and not taking immediate action. I noticed it first on Sunday, December 30 when coming home that evening.

Aspen - I have been informed the lights under the bridge have been repaired. Please let me know if you notice any further issues.

Wow - takes Goldberg 1 day to get results that Torpey couldnt accomplish in two weeks. Great job Trustee Goldberg.

I am very thankful for the work and hope such a delay is never repeated. I moved where I am specifically so that I could walk to the train. When that walk was covered in darkness for almost two weeks and I would not allow my family to walk it, I was beyond frustrated. Thank you for working on this!!!

Happy to help...but of course the thanks goes to DPW for taking care of this. In the future, don't assume something has already been reported. As they say, "if you see something, say something". :)
