St. Cloud PTA Wins Best Website Award

PTA selected from pool of applicants across the state

St. Cloud School's Parent-Teacher Association was picked across the state as the winner of the New Jersey PTA Website Award.

"This is a huge honor for our organization, who did not even have a website until the start of the 2010-2011 school year," Jill First, St. Cloud PTA President, wrote in an email.

The PTA clinched first place for their website and will receive an award at the 111th Annual NJPTA Convention Awards Banquet on March 24.

The PTA was selected from a group of nine associations that applied for the award, according to Charlotte Carr, vice president of the NJ PTA for health and welfare and convention awards chairperson.

"We're looking for links that tie the PTA into the community and effectively communicate the PTA's mission to their members and community," she said.

With more than 4,300 page views for the 2010-2011 school year, Carr said the St. Cloud PTA website was "comprehensive and up-to-date, attractive and a user-friendly platform."

During the convention, 38 awards will be doled out to 18 PTAs across the state. There are more than 700 PTAs in the state.

St. Cloud parents Claudia Kist and Perry Bashkoff will attend the convention on behalf of the school.

First said Kist, Bashkoff and David France were responsible for the creation of the website.
