Here are some important dates to keep in mind as the school year begins.
• Sept. 5-7: Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m.

• Sept. 17-18: Schools will be closed for Rosh Hashanah
• Sept. 26: Schools will be closed for Yom-Kippur
• Oct. 16-18: Parent conferences for elementary school students; elementary schools will have an early dismissal
• Nov. 6: Election Day
• Nov. 8-9: Schools will be closed as teachers attend the New Jersey Education Association Convention
• Nov. 22-23: Schools will be closed for Thanksgiving
• Dec. 24 - Jan. 1: Holiday recess.
