Mordecai Achieves School Board Certification

Sandra Mordecai will be presented her certification at the July 22 meeting.

West Orange Board of Education member Sandra Mordecai has achieved New Jersey School Board Certification.

Mordecai is among 75 other board members statewide who have recieved this honor this term.

The board member will be presented her certification at the July 22 meeting at 8 p.m. at the Central Office, 179 Eagle Rock Ave.

According to the New Jersey School Board Association to the certification is the first tier of the certification program. Areas of study are designed to give members a firm foundation in the essential governance skills needed to carry out their responsibilities. 

To receive this certification, board members must earn at least 20 credits and attain some credits in all of the following CBM core topic areas:

Mordecai was elected to the school board in 2010 and has been a resident of West Orange for 15 years.
