Local Choir and Band Students Selected to Perform in Saturday Concerts

Edison Central Six and Redwood Elementary students to perform in Flemington and Maplewood.

Twelve band students from Edison Central Six and Redwood Elementary have been selected to perform at the first North Jersey Schools Music Association Elementary Honors Band Concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Columbia High School in Maplewood, according to West Orange school district officials.

Edison Middle School's band teacher, Joseph Romano, is conducting one of the ensembles at the association's request, according to the school district.

Also, three fifth-grade students from Redwood Elementary School were selected to be members of the 20th Annual New Jersey Elementary Honor Choir, who will also perform on Saturday, May 5 at JP Case Middle School in Flemington, according to the school district.

The elementary choir students were selected by The New Jersey Music Educators Association and New Jersey American Choral Directors Association, according to the school district.

The Edison Middle School band students are:

Andrea Stoddart, oboe
Julia Edelman, flute
Meghan White, flute
Amelia Apollon, clarinet
Adelle Saldanha, clarinet
Jalissa Gass, baritone saxophone
Zachary Hess, trombone
Matthew Edwards, Euphonium
Neil Diejuste, tuba

The Redwood Elementary School band students are:

Jordan Walker, flute
Joshua Davis, alto saxophone
Keon Nelson, trombone

The Redwood Elementary School choir students are:

Maxim Brekhman
Jesse Kwabi
Kevin Ng
