Super Bowl XLVIII is turning out to be a money maker for homeowners in New Jersey.

As the biggest sporting event in the world comes to the Garden State, thousands of homeowners are looking to get a piece of the millions of dollars expected to be injected into the New York metro area by renting their homes and apartments.

And the prices aren't cheap.

A 7,000-square foot single-family home in Llewellyn Park with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a personal chef and daily maid service, is available for rent on super-bowl-rentalz.com for $10,000 a night through February.

Another home in the township is available to rent from Jan. 27 to Feb. 3 for $12,000, according to  a posting on airbnb.com.

More than 1,400 rentals are listed on eventhomes.com leading up to the game. Many of the rentals are local, including a Montclair apartment asking $2,000 a day; a Maplewood home going for $3,800 a day; and a small one-bedroom apartment in South Orange asking $400 a day.
