November 1st kicked off Movember in West Orange with an amazing 'Clean Shave' event at 8to8 Barber Shop on Northfield Ave. As you may have heard already, the entire town is getting involved -- Mayor Robert Parisi, High School Principal Hayden Moore, Chief of Police James Abbott, local business owners, local organization leaders, community members, and everyone in between has committed to growing ONLY a moustache for the month of November to help raise awareness/funds for men's health issues -- yes, I'm doing it too! But this is much more than an awareness campaign for the residents of West Orange -- this is about working together -- as one community!

The response and desire to participate from the community has been amazing! Team Mo’ Wo has almost 50 members already and we’ve raised over $2,000 within the first week! As you have probably also seen, the media has taken notice as well with amazing coverage from The Star Ledger, The West Orange Patch, The Alternative Press, FIOS 1, and an incredible live interview with Mayor Robert Parisi on NBC 4 New York on Tuesday Nov. 5, 2013.

As I mentioned at the Town Council Meeting, hopefully this is the first of many events, ideas, and campaigns we will do together as a community. There’s positive in the air here in West Orange. I hear it from neighbors and residents every day. There’s no room for negative. Let’s keep “Promoting the Positive” and making this OUR town!
