Winter Storm Watch 2013

All you need to know about the winter storm below but don't forget to enjoy the snowy Saturday and upload your photos throughout the storm!

Meteorologists are predicting this Nor’easter will bring more than a foot of snow and heavy winds to West Orange and the rest of Essex County through Saturday afternoon. 

Below Patch is compiling a list of closures, delays and things you should know throughout town. Please add any information you have in the comments. 

The township encourages residents to stay off the roads as much as possible so the roads can be cleared.

  • The West Orange Public library will close at 1 p.m. on Friday and stay closed Saturday.
  • Have a new generator after Superstorm Sandy? Make sure you follow these safety precautions.
  • West Orange school district dismissed all township schools early on Friday.
  • No parking on all county roads in West Orange after 2 p.m. on Friday
  • Tow away zone laws will be enforced as well, the township said. 
  • Mt. Pleasant School's Parent Teacher Association has postponed Friday's Valentine's Day dance.
  • Power outages should be reported to PSE&G’s Customer Service line at 1-800-436-PSEG as well aswww.pseg.com—and not to local police departments.
