The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced last week that Target was recalling White, 2-bulb Threshold Floor lamps because of reported short circuits when a standard one-way bulb is fully tightened in the lamp’s three-way socket.
About 25,000 of the lamps were sold in the U.S.
This recall includes white plastic; turned-spindle design floor lamps with white fabric drum lampshades and two 3-way pull-chain switches. Lamp is illuminated by two 3-way 100-watt or 29-watt CFL bulbs and stands approximately 60 inches tall. The model number PL1071 is located on a sticker on the bottom of the lamp.
Target has received six reports of short-circuiting, which have resulted in fires, minor property damage and two consumers being shocked.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamp, unplug it and return it to any Target store for a full refund.
