Shuttle Bus Improvements Coming to West Orange

Mayor Robert Parisi said the plan also proposes a service expansion into Bel Air and nearby areas.

Mayor Robert Parisi says the West Orange is getting new township shuttle buses by the end of the year, The Alternative Press reports.

The plan, according to the mayor, is to replace four of the buses that serve local seniors, disabled residents and NJ Transit commuters free of charge. Funding for the new conveyances will come from existing municipal capital, so there will be no new citizen tax debt, the article said.

During his Monday announcement, Parisi said the plan also proposes a service expansion into Bel Air and nearby areas. A letter dated July 15 was sent to people living in those communities. Whether this portion of the plan moves forward depends of whether the Township Council grants approval at its Tuesday meeting at the municipal building.
