Three of the five council seats in West Orange are up for grabs in the 2012 municipal election. Terms for and council members Sal Anderton and Joe Krakoviak will expire this year.

Anderton and Spango told Patch last week they would seek re-election come May.

"I'm going to run hard, I'm going to run to win," Anderton told Patch. "Come March I'll be out knocking on doors, whether there's three people or nine I'm going to run hard."

Both council members are completing their first four-year terms.

Krakoviak has not yet announced whether he will run again.

The councilman was in November 2010, replacing incumbent , who was filling in the vacant council seat left by now-Mayor Robert Parisi.

The deadline to file candidate petitions is March 5 at 4 p.m. Interested candidates should contact the township clerk's office for more information at (973) 325 4155.
