WO Man Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting a Minor

Salvador Storch, 49, was sentenced to 30 years in state prison Thursday.

 

A West Orange man was sentenced this week to three decades in state prison for sexually assaulting an underage girl, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Salvador Storch, 49, a West Orange mechanic, sexually abused a young girl over a three-year period, starting when she was 11 years old. The abuse came to light when school officials noticed she was not attending school regularly.

Storch must serve at least 85 percent of his 30-year sentence before he is eligible for parole. He will also face deportation to his home country of Mexico after he serves his sentence.  

At the trial, Storch’s defense claimed he was intoxicated during the incidents and did not understand his actions.

He was found  of first-degree aggravated assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. 

Storch admitted to Detective Louis Mignone of the West Orange Police Department that he was sexually abusing the victim. His DNA was also found on her body and underwear.
