Second House Fire in 6 Days Displaces More Residents

An occupied, single family home on Forest Hill Road caught fire at approximately 8 p.m. on Dec. 4, no injuries have been reported.

A single family home on Forest Hill Road caught fire in its garage on Dec. 4 and has caused the family to be displaced, according to the West Orange administration.

The fire broke out around 8:03 p.m. and originated in the engine compartment of a car parked in the basement level of an attached garage. The fire was contained to the garage and the cause of the fire remains unknown, according to Public Information Officer Jessica Glicker.

No injuries have been reported, but the home is severely damaged by smoke and has been deemed uninhabitable.

This is the second house fire in less than a week in the township that has displaced residents.

A fire broke out at a home on Hooper Avenue on Nov. 28 and the family was also displaced from their home. No injuries were reported in the fire on Hooper Avenue.
