Police Blotter: Stolen Cars, Missing Money, Structure Fire

The following arrest information was supplied by the West Orange police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

More than $4,000 was allegedly stolen from the Delta gas station on 399 Northfield Avenue, according to police. They said the front door of the gas station was unlocked and the alarm had not been set. The burglary occurred between 11 p.m. on Nov. 7 to 8 a.m. Nov. 8. This is the third incident of this nature to take place at the gas station, police said.

An unlocked car was apparently ransacked on Oakridge Road in West Orange according to police. They said a $200 GPS and a $70 iPod cable was taken from a 2006 Ford between Nov. 8 and Nov. 9.

A man was apparently found in possession of drugs as he drove down Rollinson Street in West Orange, police said. Police pulled over a white man who was driving in the area of Hazel Avenue and Rollinson Street on Nov. 9. The man was arrested after several pills were found on the ground of the driver's side of the car.

Police said a 2007 Toyota Camry was allegedly stolen from a driveway on Mississippi avenue in West Orange. They said the owner of the car had gone outside to warm up her car and returned to her house. When she came back outside, her car was gone. The incident occurred on the morning of Nov. 10.

A 2003 BMW was allegedly taken from Rutgers Street in West Orange on the afternoon of Nov. 10, police said. Another car was also burglarized on that street the same day but nothing was taken from the 2009 Acura.

A car on Gregory Avenue was allegedly ransacked while parked in a driveway on the night of Nov. 9, police said. A $200 GPS and $250 cash was taken from the 2008 Honda Pilot that police say was left unlocked.

A flat screen TV was apparently taken from an office on Eagle Rock Avenue in West Orange, police said. The TV was worth roughly $300 and was taken sometime between Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.

A fire broke out on Barry Drive on West Orange on the afternoon of Nov. 11, police said. West Orange fire officials responded to the scene and continue investigating the cause of the blaze. They said the fire began in the dishwasher and contained to the kitchen of the home.

A 1999 Nissan Altima was allegedly stolen from Brook End Drive in West Orange on Nov. 11, police said.
