Laptop GPS Leads to Burglar's Arrest, Police Say

Junior Richard Williams, 20, of Orange, has been charged with Tuesday's burglary at a Dean Street home.

A 20-year-old Orange man who was wanted in connection with a home burglary on Dean Street was arrested Wednesday afternoon, West Orange Police said.

According to Sgt. William Mango, two burglars broke into a Dean Street home Tuesday through an unlocked window sometime between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., making off with a MacBook and charger. The pair used a chair to boost themselves up to the window, Mango said.

When police arrived at the home at 1 p.m., the resident said the laptop had GPS and he had tracked it to Phone Booth in Orange, at 325 Main St.

Police responded to the Orange store and questioned the owner, according to the report.

After a day-long investigation, Junior Richard Williams was arrested Wednesday at the West Orange Burger King, 432 Pleasant Valley Way, just after 2 p.m., Mango said.

West Orange police were unable to locate the second burglar.

Williams was charged with unlawful entry to a residence and burglary.
