Four Charged in Heroin, 'Molly' Drug Scheme

Three men and one woman were allegedly involved with the distribution of methylone and heroin in several counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Somerset County officials arrested four alleged drug dealers Thursday following a seven-month undercover police investigation into the sale of methylone and heroin in central and northern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.

The investigation, dubbed “Operation Raw Deal,” began in August 2013, when Jakai Jones, 30, of Aberdeen was documented selling the popular drug molly to undercover detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the SCPO. Officials soon began to work uncover with the source. 

Police investigations found that Scott Carson, 29, of West Orange, was supplying Andrea Lunetta, 26, of Sayreville, who in turn supplied Jones.

Semih Demir, 25, of Berkley Heights was also connected to the scheme, according to police.

Detectives from the SCPO Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force,  Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, West Orange Police Department, Sayreville Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency executed search warrants on the homes and vehicles of Carson, Lunetta, Jones and Semir on Sunday, Feb. 16, according to officials.

Approximately $7,500 worth of heroin and $9,112 worth of methylone—sometimes called "molly"—were seized in Operation Raw Deal, according to cops.

Cops said they also found 40 vials of cocaine, a 9mm handgun, .40 caliber handgun, .22 caliber assault rifle and drug packaging materials in Carson’s home.

Police say the individuals sold narcotics in Somerset, Middlesex, Union, Monmouth and Essex counties in New Jersey and in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Carson was charged with maintaining a heroin production facility, first degree; unlawful possession of an assault rifle, second degree; endangering the welfare of a child, second degree; flight, 4th degree, conspiracy to distribute heroin, second  degree; possession of a firearm while committing a drug offense, second degree (3 counts); conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, third degree; possession with intent to distribute cocaine, third degree; possession of CDS paraphernalia; disorderly persons.

Lunetta was charged with conspiracy to distribute MDMC and heroin, third degree; conspiracy to distribute MDMC, second degree; distribution of MDMC, second degree; and endangering the welfare of a child, second degree.

Jones was charged with distribution of MDMC, second degree; conspiracy to distribute CDS, third degree; conspiracy to distribute MDMC, second degree.

Demir was charged with maintaining a MDMC production facility, first degree; distribution of MDMC, third degree; distribution of marijuana, third degree; and conspiracy to distribute CDS, third degree.

Cops also charged 10 individuals from Keansburg, Perth Amboy, Cliffwood Beach, Aberdeen, West Orange and Summit on various third degree drug charges.
