Five Homes Pummeled with Paintballs on Park Drive

Residents wake up to find yellow paint on homes.

Five separate homes were pummeled with paintballs on Park Drive last week.

Around 8 a.m. on June 19 police talked to residents at five different homes on the street whose homes were spattered with yellow paintballs, and in one incident a resident’s Dodge Ram was also hit while it was parked in a driveway.

The female resident whose car was hit said to police that at approximately 1 a.m. on June 19 she had awoken to the sound of a car starting its engine on the street across from her home. The car was described by the resident as a grey or silver four-door sedan with two men inside.

Police canvassed the neighborhood for details or leads, but no resident could provide any information.

Capt. John Buoye from the West Orange Police Deparment said police have nothing to go on at this time, and the incidents are still under investigation.

While Buoye said these were random incidents, he added there have been incidents in the past with paintball guns -- usually involving juveniles.

Any resident with information about these cases can contact the police department at (973) 325-4000, or the department’s detective bureau at (973) 325-4020.
