$5,000 in Jewelry Stolen From Buckingham Road House

Home was burglarized last week, according to police.

Burglars made off with 15 pieces of jewelry valued at about $5,000 last week when a residence on Buckingham Road was burglarized, West Orange police said.

The resident told police she left her house in the morning on Jan. 31. When she returned home at about 4:30 p.m., all the doors were still locked, but her home had been burglarized.

Police suspect the burglar broke in through a rear window in basement.

The resident told police $700 in cash, a laptop, gold pieces from a jewelry box and 15 pieces of combined gold rings, bracelets and necklaces were stolen. 

An investigation is continuing.
