Three men were allegedly the victims of an aggravated assault on Main Street, police said.

The group was walking down Main Street toward Park Avenue last Sunday morning around 4 a.m. when a light blue car with four men inside pulled up and began assaulting them, authorities said.

According to the police report, three men exited the car carrying metal objects. One of the men approached the victims and said, "What did you say?" The victim then replied, "What?" and was struck in the head with an unknown object, police said. He suffered a four-inch gash to the head and was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center.

The second victim was struck in the face with an open hand and fell to the floor  and the third victim was hit in the forearm with an unknown object causing a bruise, police said.

The victims were then told "Albanians did this to you," according to the incident report. They fled southbound in their car. Police described the three assaulters as white men, two of which were wearing red shirts and one was wearing a white shirt.
