Should the President Have Met With World Leaders Rather Than Appear on 'The View?'

Critics from both the left and the right are slamming President Barack Obama's decision to go on ABC's "The View" while not meeting with world leaders. What do you think?

There has been some criticism of the president for missing opportunities to meet with world leaders, but not missing opportunities to appear on popular talk shows. The most recent instance was Tuesday when he and the first lady appeared on ABC’s “The View.”

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer said he thought that President Barack Obama may have made a “misstep” by choosing the ladies of "The View" instead of the traditional meetings with world leaders in town for the United Nations' Convention.

“I do think there is potentially a missed opportunity this week for the President of the United States to meet with world leaders,” Blitzer reportedly said.

Others have been far more critical, calling it a lack of leadership at a time when leadership from the United States is sorely needed. The New York Post reports that House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) called Obama’s decision to go on “The View” as a “lack of willingness to lead in times of trouble.”

While the Obamas were chatting with the ladies of “The View,” White House spokesman Jay Carney was grilled by reporters as to why the president chose not to include meetings with world leaders on his schedule. Carney said the president has had extensive telephone conversations with leaders where there has been unrest of late.

So what do you think? Was skipping meetings with world leaders yet finding time for a taping of “The View" a misstep by the president, or are telephone conversations with world leaders all that is necessary?

President Obama believes that the average American is too stupid to understand international affiars. That is the reason that his Administration kept lying about the attack on our embassy in Libya. They knew within a day or so that its was a planned terrorist attack that was timed for the anniversary of 9-11. They kept lying to the American people and putting the blame on the trailer of that movie that insulted the Prophet Mohammed. I don't want a President who is a liar and I am sick of the lavish spending that he and his family have on their many vacations since he has been in office.

George is there such a thing as an unbiased source anymore?

George forgot to mention NBC. If they don't like the facts, they have an excellent editing staff.
