Editor's Note: Goodbye, WO-Town

Wilwohl leaves West Orange post

West Orange Patch launched June 30 last year. I started in the township two days before launch. In those 48 hours, I learned more about the area than some lifelong residents (or so it seemed). In the roughly 10 months that followed, I immersed myself in its politics, schools, crime, arts, sports, real estate ... And, now, it's time to move on.

I'll be helping lead Patch.com's news operations in Newark as of Thursday.

West Orange Patch readers/viewers, though, won't be left without news. My successor, Karen Yi, knows the news business and has traveled the world for a good story. She's also worked on Patch's team in Essex County since last year.

I can assure you that with Karen in charge, Patch will continue to delve into core issues concerning residents of West Orange — education, government, crime. It also will continue to offer features, arts, sports and events coverage to the township.

Karen's email is karen.yi@patch.com. I know West Orange will welcome her, as it did me.
