WEST ORANGE SCHOOLS SHINE AT ESSEX COUNTY PRIDE EXPO

West Orange Pride Expo sponsored by the Essex County Education Association
was held Friday March 14 through Friday March 21st at the Livingston Mall.
West Orange Schools displayed artwork and performed for the public.

Pleasantdale Elementary School students sang and selected numbers from West
Orange High School¹s production of Shrek The Musical were performed by cast
members.

Roosevelt Middle School featured the work of over a hundred students,
greatly due to the fact that all six of the "Images of Dr. King" from Cathy
Haggarty's art classes are included.  Alongside these remarkable pieces of
art are illustrated four-line poems inspired by studying Black History in
Jay Wecht's ELA classes.  Of note as well are drawings from Marie Silvestri
and Diana Valera's 8th grade students, who once again created colorful and
clever posters for their "No Smoking Ad Campaign."
