WEST ORANGE 10U FOOTBALL - 2 MORE BIG WINS

THE MUSTANGS KEEP UP THE SCORING 30-6, 18-0

The West Orange PAL 10U Pee Wee Mustangs moved to 4-0 in the Twin Valley Conference with a 30-6 win against the Paterson Mustangs. West Orange started off quick with a 61 yard swing pass for a touchdown from Sean Brown to Makhi Green. Makhi also had a 65 yard touchdown later in the game. Brown rushed for 15 yards and threw a 2 point pass to Jayson Raines. Raines also made a very exciting play to score the Mustangs’ second TD. From the defensive end position, he snatched a pass out of the air with one hand and took it all the way to the end zone. After that, Divine Zaire used his speed and quickness to score a 21 yard touchdown. Dorian Rawls, Pharele Brun, Zander Lipsey and Shakhi Carson (2 pt play) all added to the rushing attack. In total the Mustangs put up 203 yards on just 14 plays. Jordan Quiles, Raines and Aidan Healey all had nice blocks on the outside to spring the long runs. The interior line was also tough. Chris Parsons, Zander Timothy, Syncere Flanagan, Adrian Charles, JJ Scavalla and Jahsil Ashe kept Paterson back all day.

The defense held strong giving up just 6 points. The game was highlighted by 3 big interceptions. Along with Raines' big pick, Dorian Rawls and Zander Timothy also each had an interception. Brun, Jared Massay and Adam Ashby also played a big role on the defensive side. Bowen Wright and Hunter Bonaparte did an excellent job coming into the game and making big plays as well. Parsons and Carson held strong in the middle and stuffed the Paterson attack over and over. It was a great effort overall on both sides of the ball.

On Tuesday, the Mustangs had a rematch with Clifton and put up another win 18-0. Gilberto Robinson had a big day to help the Mustangs win. He started off the scoring with a 53 yard punt return TD. Then later on sealed the game with a 60 yard TD run.  Aidan Healey and JJ Scavalla each did a nice job to help the offense, both in blocking and each caught a pass. Adam Ashby scored the Mustangs’ other touchdown and also had several big runs. Hunter Bonaparte, Jordan Reynoso and Surpreme Zaire also added nice runs during the game. The line was led by Miles Morgan, Sean Tandy, Anthony Brown, Brandon Ali-Ramproop and Aidan Carter. Colton Lehrer led the offense up and down the field at quarterback. The defense was equally strong. Bowen Wright, Tajir Brown, Larry Verducci, Anthony Chapman, Austin Cowley, Marcus Green and Syhan Webb made big plays on the defensive side. Marco Davino, James Flowers, Andrew Merklinger and Tommy Minichillo added nice plays on both sides of the ball to help get the win. Ashby, Healey and Scavalla also made nice stops on defense as well. It was a great week with two big victories for the Mustangs.
