MUSTANGS A SECOND STRAIGHT UNDEFEATED SEASON

MUSTANGS WIN TWO MORE

The West Orange PAL 10U Pee Wee Mustangs beat Orange 26-6 and have an undefeated conference record of 8-0 for the second straight year.  The team is ranked among the top ten teams in the State by the National Prep and Youth Football Association.

Under Head Coach Andrew Mazurek last Sunday against Orange the offense had a balanced attack that had four running backs rush for over 40 yards. Dorian Rawls led the team in rushing with 75 yards and two touchdowns on four attempts. Makhi Green put up 69 yards and a touchdown on just two carries. He also added a two point play. Shakhi Carson ran strong five times for 60 yards and a touchdown. Zander Lipsey added to the attack with 44 yards on six carries. Quarterback Sean Brown rushed for 19 yards and did a great job leading the offense to another big win. The line was the key in opening all the big holes for the backs. Chris Parsons, Zander Timothy, Syncere Flanagan, Adrian Charles, Jahsil Ashe, Jordan Quiles, Jayson Raines, Aidan Healey and JJ Scavalla dominated the line of scrimmage. The Mustangs put up their biggest yardage total of the year with 271.

The defense was also strong this week. Linebackers Carson and Parsons led at linebacker and were in on many tackles. Zander Timothy, Adrian Charles and Syncere Flanagan stuffed the middle. Adam Ashby, Hunter Bonaparte and Quiles also did a nice job at the linebacker spot. Jared Massay, Dorian Rawls, Lipsey and Divine Zaire all held strong in the defensive backfield. Zaire came up with a big interception in the first half. Raines and Pharelle Brun also did a nice job stopping Orange from getting outside the defensive end spots. Overall it was a great team effort and exciting victory.

On Monday night the Mustangs played a tough game in the cold against Bayonne and came out on top 14-12. Adam Ashby scored the first TD on a nice cutback run. JJ Scavalla would add the extra point on a great play action pass from quarterback Colton Lehrer. Scavalla also had a big run on a reverse to set up a Mustangs TD. Gilberto Robinson scored the other touchdown by using his super speed to get to the end zone on a counter play. Tajir Brown then powered his way through to get the extra point for the Mustangs. Surpreme Zaire, Syhan Webb and Hunter Bonaparte also did a good job in the backfield. The line did a great job blocking with Gavin Rembert, Anthony Chapman, Miles Morgan, Bowen Wright, Anthony Brown, Sean Tandy and Aidan Carter leading the way. Wright, Rembert and Tajir Brown were keys to the defensive side as well. They came up with hard hits and caused havoc in the backfield all night. Austin Cowley, Marcus Green, Jordan Reynoso, Bonaparte, Webb and Tommy Minichillo all added nice plays to help the defense. Brandon Ali-Ramproop, Marco Davino and Andrew Merklinger did a nice job on offense and defense throughout the game. It was a fun action packed win for the Mustangs.
