Waiters Led the Mustangs Defense to Another Big Win and Shut Out

WEST ORANGE PAL JUNIOR PEE WEE MUSTANGS ENJOY BIG WINS OVER JERSEY CITY AND MONTCLAIR

This past Sunday’s rematch of the 2011 Twin Valley Football Conference Championship was a great game. The two unbeaten teams battled all day, through the cold rain, and the Mustangs got some payback and came out on top 7-0. This win was was truly a team effort. Elijah Brown led the way with 10 carries for 100 yards. He scored the only TD of the game and also converted the extra point. Quarterback Sean Brown led with confidence and also added some key QB runs for a total of 18 yards. Shakhi Carson had 24 yards including the clinching first down to end the game. The game was really won on the line of scrimmage with strong blocking from Jarrett Waiters, Chris Parsons, Jacob Maurice, Adrian Charles, Zander Timothy, Jayson Raines, Jordan Quiles and Jared Massay.

The defense held tough and posted an impressive shut out. Jayson Raines once again shut down the right end with 7 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Carson (7 tackles, 1 sack) and Parsons (6 tackles, 2 sacks) were very active and had several big hits. Jordan Quiles stepped up at outside linebacker with 6 tackles. Jacob Maurice was in on 5 tackles. Waiters was the heart of the defense taking on double teams all day. He had 5 tackles and 2 sacks. Makhi Green showed great hustle and heart— making the game saving tackle on the Jets running back at the 5 yard line late in the game. The defense would stand strong and keep Jersey City out of the endzone. Massay, Brown, Charles, Divine Zaire, and Syncere Flanigan also added to the shut out.

On Monday the Mustangs beat Montclair 18-6 in another great game. Adam Ashby and Dorian Rawls both scored long TDs and Divine Zaire closed out the win with an interception for a TD. Zander Lipsey, Aidan Healy, Bowen Wright and Gavin Rembert were strong leaders on both sides of the ball. Also adding to the win were Aidan Carter, Sean Tandy, Larry Verducci, Hunter Bonaparte, Colton Lehrer, Miles Morgan, David Pedo and Gilberto Robinson.
