THE MUSTANGS CLAIMED THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A BIG WIN AGAINST CLIFTON...UNDEFEATED, UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS!

MUSTANGS FINISH OFF CLIFTON TO GO UNDEFEATED!

The West Orange PAL Junior Pee Wee Mustangs claimed West Orange's first championship since 2005 with a big win over Clifton 28-6. They finished the season a perfect 8-0 in the Twin Valley Conference. Elijah Brown was unstoppable - he scored all four touchdowns on the day. Makhi Green, Shakhi Carson, Pharele Brun and Divine Zaire also added nice runs throughout the game. QB Sean Brown ran for an extra point and also threw a 2 point pass to Jayson Raines. The line as always was dominated by the Mustangs up front. Jacob Maurice, Syncere Flanigan, Chris Parsons, Zander Timothy, Adrian Charles, Jarrett Waiters, Jordan Quiles, Sean Tandy, Miles Morgan, Aidan Healy and Bowen Wright did a nice job opening holes for the backs all game.

The intense Mustang defense held Clifton down all day. Parsons and Maurice were all over the field making tackles. Jared Massay added an interception. Other Mustangs that put up strong efforts were Zander Lipsey, Adam Ashby, Gavin Rembert, Aidan Carter, Larry Verducci, Jonathan Salazar, Hunter Bonaparte, Gilberto Robinson, Dorian Rawls and Colton Leher.

The Mustangs also put up one more great win on Monday against Clifton. Zander Lipsey ran for one TD and passed for another to Aidan Healy. Divine Zaire added the final TD of the night on a long run. Jacob Maurice added an extra point and Adam Ashby had two. Dorian Rawls and Gilberto Robinson also had big runs on the night. It was one last great team win to finish out a championship season.

The Mustangs in total went 13-0 and outscored their opponents 279 - 38. This team goes up there with one of the greats in W.O.P.A.L history.

The historical success and numerous victories are a the result of the hard work and dedication of the Players and support of the Parents.  However, the record breaking season could not have been achieved and must be attributed to the stellar leadership of head coach Andrew Mazurek and his assistants Tommy Brennan, Tommy Brennan Jr., Russ DeSantis, Carmen D'Aiuto, and Derrick Morrison. Those coaches took a group of young boys on August 1, 2012 and by November 18th made them an unstopable machine.

A shot also needs to go out to the dedicated cheerleaders who were with the team all the way.  Their neverending support really kept the players and fans motivated.
