Jr PEE WEE MUSTANGS MOVE TO 3-0 WITH HARD FOUGHT VICTORY

PAL Jr Pee Wee Mustangs remain undefeated after their season home opener.

This past Sunday, September 23, 2012, the West Orange PAL Junior Pee Wee Mustangs, under head coach Andrew Mazurek, improved their record to 3-0 with a big win in their home opener at West Orange High School against Silk City.  Elijah Brown ran for 84 yards and two long touchdowns.  Makhi Green added a long touch down run of his own for 46 yards.  He also caught an extra point on a nice roll out pass from quarterback Sean Brown.  Brown also rushed for 31 yards and an extra point while leading the Mustang offense up and down the field.  Shakhi Carson added many tough inside runs and finished with 55 yards on the day.  Once again the line was strong from start to finish. Syncere Flanigan, Chris Parsons, Zander Timothy, Adrian Charles, Jarrett Waiters, Jayson Raines and Jordan Quiles pushed back the Cardinals every play to own the line of scrimmage.

The defense was even stronger this week. Carson was all over the field, collecting 8 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries.  Jayson Raines shut down the right end for 8 tackles, including an amazing 4 sacks.  The aggressive defense held tough all day, making many tackles in the backfield. Pharelle Brun, Jarrett Waiters and Chris Parsons also added QB sacks.  Jacob Maurice, Jared Massay, Divine Zaire, Makhi Green and Javon Riviere all made big tackles. Jordan Quiles was also strong on defense, playing multiple positions and succeeding in each spot. The Mustangs gave up a kick return for a TD but the defense didn’t give up anything, pushing back Silk City for a total of -28 yards from scrimmage on the day.

Next up the Jr Pee Wees will face East Orange on September 30, 2012 at 10:30 am in East Orange.
