Lending a Paw to Homeless Pets

West Orange, NJ, September 30, 2013 — According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), less than 30% of cats and dogs are adopted from shelters and rescues in the U.S. today. An average of six out of 10 healthy shelter pets are destroyed simply because there is no one to adopt them.

The NJ copywriters at Fahoury Ink are looking to re-write those statistics this October, as they celebrate National “Adopt a Shelter Pet” month with their fourth annual fundraiser for the West Orange Animal Welfare League (WOAWL).

According to Chief Creative Officer Lisa Fahoury, her firm will once again donate 10% of every project it bills in October directly to the WOAWL, an all-volunteer organization that helps hundreds of homeless Essex County pets find a place to call home. Says Fahoury, “This is the perfect time for companies to jump-start their 2014 content marketing plans. By awarding us a copywriting project, you can cross something off your to-do list and feel good helping homeless pets. It’s the best kind of win-win.”

WOAWL President Sandy Rubin can’t find enough words to say how special Lisa and the clients of Fahoury Ink are, especially in a challenging economy. “Donations are down along with adoptions. Because of Lisa’s dedication, we’ve been able to keep up with spaying and neutering, testing for infectious diseases and taking care of more serious issues if they come up,” Rubin explains. “Last year, we placed 95 pets in their forever homes and Fahoury Ink’s generosity helped us do that.”

To date, Fahoury Ink has raised more than $8,000 for the WOAWL, and hopes to make this year the strongest yet. The promotional period for the 2013 fundraiser runs from October 1 to October 31, and applies to any project for which time is billed during the month. Additional donations to the WOAWL are also most welcome.
