Local Copywriters Support WO Animal Welfare League During October "Adopt a Shelter Pet" Month

Celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet month, copywriting firm Fahoury Ink is donating 10% of its October billings to the West Orange Animal Welfare League to benefit homeless pets.

Celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet month, downtown WO copywriting firm Fahoury Ink is donating 10% of its October 2012 billings to the West Orange Animal Welfare League (WOAWL) to benefit homeless pets.

This is Fahoury Ink’s third consecutive year supporting the WOAWL. To date, we've raised over $5,000 for the all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray and abandoned animals in the West Orange, NJ area.

According to the WOAWL’s Elaine Gibson, last year her group worked with the township to place nearly 100 animals in permanent homes. “Fahoury Ink’s donations help us get every pet ‘adoption ready’ — veterinary care, spay/ neutering, distemper vaccines, even new collars, leashes and cat carriers.”

Like other nonprofits, the WOAWL has been hard hit by economic conditions on multiple fronts — donations and adoptions are down, and the volunteer pool is shrinking. Says Gibson, “There are fewer people looking for a new pet so it takes much longer for animals to be adopted. But we keep on trying, working and hoping to find these stray and abandoned pets homes.”
