The Knowles Foundation Donates $20,000 to Support the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation

The Knowles Foundation recently donated funds raised from its Inaugural Walk, Certified 5K Run and Wheelchair Challenge to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

The Knowles Foundation recently donated funds raised from its Inaugural Walk, Certified 5K Run and Wheelchair Challenge to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.  The event, held earlier this year at Eagle Rock Reservation in West Orange, NJ, raised $20,000 to benefit the mission shared by both organizations.

The Knowles Foundation’s goal is to advance research for the treatment and ultimate cure of spinal cord injuries and for improving the quality of life of individuals living with paralysis. The foundation was established by the Knowles family, operators of Knowles Restaurants, the family-run business whose properties include The Manor, Highlawn Pavilion, Pleasantdale Château, and the Residence Inn Marriott, all located in West Orange, as well as Ram’s Head Inn in Galloway, NJ.

Likewise, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.

Attendees of the donation reception included members of The Knowles Foundation and 5K event board, as well as representatives from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Both groups extended their appreciation and thanks to all the donors, participants, sponsors, and volunteers who helped to make the event a success.

Those wishing to donate in support of the cause are encouraged to contact The Knowles Foundation at 973-731-2067.  For more information about the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, please visit www.ChristopherReeve.org or call 800-225-0292.
