Celebrate My Drive: Support safe teen driving and maybe win $100K and a Kelly Clarkson concert

Just in case you haven’t heard already, many people in the West Orange community are lifting a few fingers over the next week to support safer teen driving – and win up to $100,000 and a concert from Kelly Clarkson. Please join us.

State Farm created “Celebrate My Drive” http://bit.ly/1gMev2N last year to share the belief that safe driving is a lifelong commitment from the start. As the father of a daughter who just started driving, and as a high schooler who had a friend die in a one-car crash, I’m in. I put this on my Facebook page, but this can’t hurt.

The program is simple. If you’re at least 14 years old, you go to the “Celebrate My Drive” website http://bit.ly/1gMev2N and register. (By the way, you should get as many people as you can to do this by posting to every social media platform you can.) Once a day from October 18-26, you commit to safe driving with a few key strokes at one of three locations:

West Orange High School is teaming up with the Nikhil Badlani Foundation http://nikhilbadlanifoundation.org/, founded in memory and celebration of an 11-year-old West Orange boy killed in a car crash in 2011, on the initiative. If we win, we’ll use the money to keep teens safe: Project Graduation, drivers education programs, and funding the foundation.

Please spread the word and commit to safe driving.
