Mayor Honors Volunteers of Special Needs Program

Volunteers for the Mayor's Program for Individuals with Special Needs were recognized for their dedication to the program and its families.

Mayor Robert Parisi honored volunteers from the Mayor’s Program for Individuals with Special Needs at the program’s annual holiday party Dec. 18.

The volunteers were given citations, also known as appreciation awards, from the Mayor’s office for all of their dedication and hard work to the program’s families and West Orange community.

Lisa Adams, coordinator of the program, stated it was a great time to acknowledge the volunteers, as it is the program’s last event of the year.

“Our holiday party is our last event of the year and it was a time we took as a group to acknowledge the faithful service of our volunteers,” Adams said in a phone interview with Patch. “Throughout the year, our volunteers serve the special needs individuals of West Orange and their families, so it was a great opportunity that we chose to celebrate.”

Parisi and Councilwoman Susan McCartney were both in attendance at the holiday event and gave all the volunteers the certificates to show their support and appreciation.
